Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born November 18, 1985, in Los Angeles. The father of the child, Paul Felix is an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. And her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix demonstrated a talent in athletics from the beginning, and soon discovered her athletic abilities during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After her first audition she was ranked among the top two athletes in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 200 meters in just 10 weeks. In 2003 Felix completed her high school graduation having signed a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas and then enrolled in the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. The following year, Felix earned her first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece making an all-time junior world record taking 200 metres within 22.18 seconds. Felix was also the youngest to win the 200-meter race during the World Championships that took place in Helsinki in the year 2005. She was able to defend her record the following year, defeating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed in the top third of each of her races in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
